This Yantra is the embodiment of the energy of Durga, the Invincible, the One who destroys all evil and who is the Divine Feminine. She is said to contain ALL of the qualities of the Universe and draws on them to protect you when needed, thus you can overcome all negative influences by her power. Durga, sometimes called Chamundi, is non-judgemental in her LOVE and sheds her LIGHT upon those who invoke her.
Often
depicted as a Goddess riding upon a tiger, she is formidable and radiant.
One story of her emergence relates how she was called upon by all the
Celestial Beings, with their energy joining together she was created as
the SUM total of all Divine Energy, thus her face holds the power of Shiva
(the power of destruction), the power of Vishnu moves through her legs
(the power of preservation), the power of Brahma moves in her feet (the
power of creation), and all other celestials reside as power throughout
her body. This Goddess appears in form to establish balance and harmony,
peace and prosperity, the Uniting of the Celestial forms creates ONE Divine
Feminine Force known as Shakti. She has a compassionate smile, yet carries weapons of destruction in her many hands - these contrasts of sublime beauty and a taste for battle carry the energy and strength of the Enchanted Warrior; supported by the earth, and ready to use her power to defend the highest truths. She is the Supreme Mother, ready to protect and defend her young.(in this case EACH of us is a child of the Universe)
This Yantra is helpful when you need to do some 'inner house cleaning' clearing the toxicities and impurities of the mind. Slaying the demons (negative thoughts) Durga helps to prepare the ground for positive and radiant energy to be expressed. The Yantra which symbolizes her purist vibration is a visually striking configuration of 9 triangles against a pale orange background. The effect of gazing upon this form creates feelings of peacefulness, purity and serenity upon the seeker. The Nine Triangles represent the 9 shaktis, the nine primary energies that comprise Durga - the NAV DURGA. The central upward pointing triangle represents the Divine Mother herself.
The mantra OM DUM DURGAYE NAMAHA translates as "Salutations to She who is beautiful to the seeker of truth, and terrible in appearance to those who would injure devotees of truth."* Another beautiful Mantra for the energy of the Great Feminine - is OM EIM HRIM KLIM CHAMUNDAYE VICCHE NAMAHA translating as " Om and salutations to She who is radiant with power and wisdom."* Recitation of these mantras and meditation upon the Yantra will bring the strength, protection and support needed in all times of struggle and/or growth.
